Jean-Frédéric has an eloquent track record and sought-after expertise in the life sciences sector, clinical research, the biopharmaceutical industry and artificial intelligence in health. Drawing on his in-depth knowledge of this ecosystem and his strategic planning and governance skills, he contributes to the performance of organizations and knows how to rally the various stakeholders to develop and advance projects.
In the course of his previous professional activities, whether as a political advisor at the National Assembly or with a large pharmaceutical company, Jean-Frédéric has constantly worked to rally people around common objectives. In particular, he participated in the creation and expansion of the NÉOMED Institute and, more recently, in bringing the artificial intelligence sector in Montréal closer to the pharmaceutical industry. He has sat or sits on several boards of directors, including the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec, Héma-Québec, BIOQuébec, the Regroupement en soins de santé personnalisé au Québec (RSSPQ), the Institut NÉOMED and Arion Orchestre Baroque. He also chairs the board of directors of the Consortium de recherche en oncologie clinique du Québec (Q-CROC).
Jean-Frédéric Lafontaine holds a Bachelor of Science (Neurobiology) from McGill University as well as a Bachelor and a Master of Laws from the Université de Sherbrooke. The subject of his master's degree was the evolution of the rules relating to the obtaining of consent for clinical research. Jean-Frédéric has also been certified as a corporate director by the Institute of Corporate Directors.
