Yan is a high-level strategic consultant who knows how to provide judicious answers to issues with varied and complex ramifications. A rigorous manager, he is skilled in both public relations and government affairs. In particular, he has gained invaluable experience working with a Prime Minister of Canada for three election campaigns, a Premier of Quebec, and as Chief of staff at the federal level.

Yan has held senior positions for more than a decade, advising leaders and ministers on a wide variety of policies, programs and strategic communications. He has managed teams of over 40 employees and annual operating budgets of $3 million. Yan has served as Chief of Staff in the Departments of Transport, Infrastructure, Communities, Intergovernmental Affairs, and the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec. He was chief strategist and senior advisor to a leader of Canada's Official Opposition. He also has unique experience in leading the preparation of leaders' debates, and enjoys a wide network of contacts in Canada and other countries.

He studied political science at Laval University. He gives conferences on public relations and the workings of government.

Yan analyses politics on a regular basis in various Québec and Canada media.
